Overview of Department:
The Department of Pathology is a vital entity; it serves as the backbone of medical education and patient care. It provides students with a comprehensive understanding of diseases through the study of pathological processes. Pathology courses and practical sessions equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to accurately diagnose and manage various conditions. Additionally, the department supports clinical practice by conducting research, analysing specimens, and providing diagnostic services to aid in patient care. The core competencies of department of Pathology is teaching programme to prepare undergraduate students for their course. Formal teaching is conducted in a variety of settings. Full participation by residents is expected. At the end of sessions students should attain competencies in the cognitive knowledge of basic sciences applied to speciality courses and they should be experts in clinical and practical skills. Student should be able to attain knowledge about basic principles of research and to take up small time research projects.
